Mail Manager and Mail Lists
Chapter 6
MAIL MANAGER:
You can access your Mail Manager by going to your Control Panel:
http://www.yourdomainname.com/menu
Inside this area you can setup all of your email items...like auto-responders,
forwarded mail, and pop accounts.
Once you've accessed your Control Panel, click on Mail Manager and then click on
the email account you wish to edit. This area is self-explanatory but we've
included instructions below.
To receive email, your domain registration or transfer should be complete. You will know it's complete if you can access www.your-domain/menu
To add an email account:
(An email account gives you a unique email address. If you add an account
called JOHN, then JOHN@yourdomain.com will have a unique mailbox.)
-Go to your Control Panel at www.yourdomain.com/menu
-Click on Mail Manager
-Select "New Address" on the left
-Enter the username and click "Add"
-That user has been added. To check email for that user, see Setting
up a Mail Program
To Add an Email Alias
(If your primary account is JOHN@yourdomain.com but you also want to
receive email at JOHNSMITH@yourdomain.com, then you add an alias for
JOHNSMITH to forward to JOHN)
Other Forwarding Options
There are many options for forwarding mail. For example, you could setup forwarding as:
box1 ---> box1, box2 (both
boxes get a copy)
or
box1 ---> box1, box2, box@aol.com
or
box1 --> box2, box3
Special restrictions:
If you setup box1 to forward to an outside address, such as box@aol.com and a
box within your domain such as box2, you must include box1 also:
YES: box1 ---> box1, box2,
box@aol.com
NO: box1 --> box2, box@aol.com (must include box1)
In addition, you can't have
double forwarding:
NO: box1 -->box2 ---> box3
YES: box1 --> box2, box3
You can allow your users to change their own passwords without bothering you each time they would like to change them. Please see Chapter 2
2 for further details.
